A Bronx man was so scared of his girlfriend that he faked his own kidnapping rather than admit to her he had been away for two weeks. A passerby found 36-year-old Rahmell Pettway between two cars at 1:10 am Thursday morning. His hands, legs and mouth were covered with duct tape and he looked beaten up. After being transferred to a hospital, he told cops he “couldn’t recall” what happened, but later said he was abducted by two men in a minivan on February 19th. Authorities were suspicious of Pettway’s story, and he eventually admitted to making it up because he was terrified of facing his girlfriend after being gone for two weeks. He was arrested and charged with filing a false police report. Bet it will be even harder for him to face his girlfriend now.
